Kitchen orders
The canteen cooks; the ward takes the order at the bed. At each meal's cut-off one order per ward goes to the canteen. The administrator decides; CBS records every step.
Canteen stock is kept in MANI; CBS keeps none.
Waiting for the nurse
Every order for a patient is approved or declined by the nursing station before it goes to the canteen. An attendant's own food needs no approval.

Indents to the canteen
At the cut-off each ward's orders go to the canteen as one indent, with the diet orders by bed number. A patient's name never leaves CBS.
Receive the canteen's dispatch
Type what actually arrived. Anything less than sent is kept as a shortage.

Delivered to the bed
The canteen does not charge for meals here, so nothing is added to the bill.
Order at the desk
For the patient, only dishes approved for the patient's diet are shown. An order placed here by a nurse, doctor or administrator counts as approved.
No food is approved for this diet yet. Add dishes under Approved foods.
This is after the cut-off; it will go in a separate indent.

A doctor or nurse sets the diet. A change keeps the old order in the history, with the reason.

Approved foods
Food for the patient comes only from this list, for the patient's diet. A dish approved for "Any diet" suits every diet except nil by mouth.
